In this guide, i’ll explan How to disassemble Lenovo Y40 to remove
and replace battery, hard drive, ram, keyboard, palm rest, wireless
card, motherboard, heat sink and cooling fan, refer on this guide, you
can repair, upgrade, clean cooling fan for your Lenovo Y40.
remove all the screws from bottom case
the bottom case has been removed
under the bottom case, we can access the battery, hard drive, ram, wireless card, speakers, heat sink and cooling fan.
remove the screws securing the battery, disconnect the battery power cable, then remove the battery
Lenovo Y40 installed a 7.4v, 6600mah li-ion battery, lenovo p/n: L13M4P01
remove the ram memory, Lenovo Y40 have two ram slot, only one ram installed
Ramaxel 4GB ram memory
disconnect two wireless card antennas, remove one screw, take away it from it’ slot.
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 wireless card
WD slim hard drive
left speaker
right speaker

the motherhboard has been removed, now we can access the keyboard
