In this guide, i’ll explan How to disassemble Dell Inspiron 14-3421
remove and replace hard drive, dvd drive, keyboard, palm rest, ram
memory, wireless lan card, bottom case, usb board, heatsink, cooling fan
and motherboard, refer on this guide, you can upgrade, repair, clean
fan for your Inspiron 14-3421.
Dell Inspiron 14-3421 teardown step:
unlock and remove the battery
pull out the dvd drive
Dell Inspiron 14-3421 installed a samsung SU-208 dvd drive.
remove the screws securing the service cover.
lift and remove the service cover.
under the cover, we can get access the ram, wireless lan card and hard drive.
remove the screw securing the hard drive module, lift the black tape and slide to the left
Dell Inspiron 14-3421 installed a seagate 500GB 5400RPM hard drive.
remove one screw securing the wireless lan card, disconnect two antennas, then take it away from it’s slot.
Dell Inspiron 14-3421 have two ram slots, mean you can install another ram
remove all the screws from bottom case.
turn over the laptop
pry up and remove the keyboard
Dell Inspiron 14-3421 keyboard has been removed.
remove four screws securing the palm rest
disconnect two cables
pry up the palm rest
the palm rest has been removed
in next step, we will remove the motherboard.
disconnect the cable, you can find one screw, remove it
now you can remove the motherboard.
loosen three screws securint the heatsink, disconnect the cooling fan cable from motherboard.
the heat sink and cooling fan has been removed.
